The Flaming Forties! Lecture

“The 40’s: Memorable Years of America’s Greatest Generation.” Gene Valentino, television and radio veteran narrated a multimedia presentation on the history of the 1940’s. He explains that in the early years the ‘40s began with a wave of frivolity and then the attack on Pearl Harbor took place, changing the dynamics of the people and their views of life. Valentino takes us through the pain, joys and music of this special era. Valentino worked for NBC as the UN correspondent, anchored the news in Connecticut, and served as general manager at a number of broadcast affiliates. His voice has been heard on a number of television animation, documentaries and educational and commercial projects. (80 min.)
