Festival Opera previewed Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos with a talk presented by conductor Michael Morgan of the Oakland Symphony and Sacramento Opera about the music and content of this well-known opera within an opera. He was joined by coloratura soprano Shawnette Sulker, who will sing the role of Zerbinetta, which includes one of the most notable coloratura arias in all of opera.
